| Ronald W. Peppe II was appointed to the Board of Education in
1997, and was elected to a 4-year term December 2000-04. The Board
elected him President in 1999 and again in December 2000. Admitted
to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia, Mr. Peppe
is vice president of legal services and corporate secretary of Canam
Steel Corporation. He received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University
with a major in international studies. Mr. Peppe then received his
M.A., with distinction, from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced
International Studies. He also received a juris doctorate
from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was Notes
and Comments Editor of the Maryland Law Review.
Mr. Peppe is active in a variety of community organizations.
He was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners as the Frederick
County Bar Association representative to the Frederick County
Advanced Life Support Advisory Board, for which he also serves
as Secretary. He has completed the Chamber of Commerce Leadership
Program and is the Board of Education's liaison to the Career
and Technology Advisory Council.
A Frederick City resident, Mr. Peppe and his wife Beth have two
children, both students in a Frederick County Public School. He
