Mr. Daryl A. Boffman was elected in November 2002 to a 4-year term on the Board of Education to be served December 2002-2006. He also served an appointed term on the Board from July 2000 until his election, and was its 2001-02 vice president. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in business management from Hampton University.

President/CEO of Acela Technologies, Inc. in Frederick, Mr. Boffman has served as chair of the FCPS Minority Affairs Advisory Committee, board member for Heartly House, Captain in the U.S. Army, and president of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Beta Gamma Chapter. He was the Jupiter Corporation's Employee of the Year in 1992, won an Outstanding Young Men in America Award in 1985, and the Outstanding Achievement Award from Computer Technology Services in 1998. He became a member of the Banking Million Dollar Club in 1990.

A Frederick resident, Mr. Boffman has 3 children who attend Frederick County public schools.
